thoughts on electric scooters

I’ve been riding electric scooters for 2-3 years at this point. I also rode a razor kickscooter once. The kickscooter is safer, for its lower speeds and greater control. A lot of the bulky lime/bird scooters are terrible, as they are hard to control and too bulky. They don’t feel intuitive.

go for ninebot/segway as the brand if you insist. I see a lot of people using gotrax scooters, and they aren’t good. they’re slow, look bad (esp. the logo on the stem), and have lower manufacturing quality and design. but I guess people are buying them, so good for them for making a business. probably earning more than me hahahahahahah

there’s also a risk of someone cutting your scooter brake lines if they’re exposed. it’s unlikely, but it’s possible.

I still wouldn’t recommend riding an electric scooter for safety reasons though. I’ve gotten caught on hidden curbs twice, flying over the handlebars but luckily not being severely injured in both cases. This is simply because the wheels are too small.

A good looking kickscooter or a bike (not the road bikes, the one where you sit further back) would be my preferred transportation.
