Observations on Hispanic Migrants

In the front of house and back of house of a McDonalds in DC, BOH in Chinese restaurants in Atlanta, BOH of a “French” style restaurant in New York, and observing people who walk along the corridor of a road in Duluth in Atlanta, it appears to me that there are a lot more Hispanic people working in restaurants than there were two or three years ago.

They would mainly compete with other lower paid workers in a variety of industries, and I think this demographic change is already baked into this country for the next few decades. Articles seem to say that there is an overestimation of the percentage of undocumented… but I haven’t seen anything about the absolute amount.

Anyhow, I’m not against learning more Spanish. It’s a fairly easy language for English speakers.
